The old governor's residence, expanded around a colonial core dating to 1806. Mount Lavinia sits on a headland ten kilometres south of central Colombo, with a wide sandy beach directly below the terrace. Sunday-evening jazz on the terrace with a gin sling is a Colombo tradition.
